Just bought a new(er) Miata. It’s a 2002 LS model in silver. I’m going to pick it up this afternoon. This is the best pic I have of it at the moment.
It needs a lot of cleaning, new seat upholstery, and some paint touchup, but the chassis is good and it’s had all the service history. I’ve already bought my first mod and I don’t even have the car yet...

I’m enjoying the overwhelming Miata content since someone complained about the lack of Miata content; which somehow proved that Miatas were overrated.

This will be my second Miata. I’ve had quite a journey with them, but I’ve come back around to the stage of loving them. Regardless of what people think, when you get on a curvy road it’s simply sublime.

Teflon window guides.
Like most Miatas with power windows, they take like 30 seconds to raise/lower. New window guides/cleaning out the switch/wiring in relays should have the windows operating like all other cars.

Then question... what wheels should I get? The stock ones are gonna get snow tires when it cools off cause the tires are almost gone, so I’m trying to decide on a 15” wheel combo to run with Star Specs in the spring.
Kinda feeling these: http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performa…
Light, strong, cheap, decent looks, and free shipping.

Those are pretty sweet wheels. I wanted to run bronze wheels, for a better contrast against the silver paint, ever since I saw this Miata online:
But I don’t have stupid amounts of money for Volk CE28Ns so used set of Konig Heliums with 90% of the look of the CE28N, for 25% of the price, do the job just fine. Anyway, you’re smart going for 15s since the tire market for 16s is noticeably smaller. I prefer the Heliums simply because I’m trying to stay class-legal for E-Street auto-crossing otherwise I’d be going for 15x7s or 15x8s. Just go for the lightest wheel you can since the steering seems to respond better with less and less unsprung mass.

i personally went 16’s on mine with my kosei’s. only 12.8 pounds and i think it looks better than 15’s IMO

Yeah, this is my second Miata so I’m familiar with the whole Miata deal. Going to 15s for tires and weight savings is the goal.
The steering in this was noticeably heavier than my NA, which I like. It feels more solid. probably due to the wider/grippier tires as well as lower caster angle I bet.

Lol, the windows on my Miata have been down for so long that I forgot how slow they were. I may have to do that myself!

Oh, by the way, I think you picked up the best non-MiataSpeed NB2 model year in my honest opinion. You get the last year of the Torsen LSD that was replaced by the MEH Fuji Likely Self-Destructing diff but also the trunk-operated lights that turn on whenever you open the trunk that are oddly absent on the ‘01 cars. I’m in the middle of updating my interior to ‘03+ spec which means the silver console and shifter trim, silver-ringed vents, silver doorhandles, and eventually finding a gauge cluster with silver rings instead of chrome units. It’s amazing what the silver console trim alone can do to spruce up the interior!

This is the second time I’ve bought this kit. Highly reccomend. It comes with everything you need, and the teflon will last much longer than the stock guides. I have manual windows in my 91, and they are effortless to operate.

That’s the best looking NB I’ve ever seen.
